About Nick Bell-booth
Nick and his family have been associated with the Ponsonby, Grey Lynn and Herne Bay areas for over 130 years. His father Buster having been born in Curran Street in 1915, a local well known sailor and rugby player of his time, playing for the Ponsonby and Marist Rugby Clubs and Auckland and serving with the RNZNR in the Pacific and Europe and he played for London Wasps and NZ Services during the WW2.
Nick attended school at St Michaels Convent and Sacred Heart College and then from Form 3 Auckland Grammar School and he graduated from Auckland University with an LLB. Nick also studied Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Politics and Economics.
Nick began practising as a lawyer in 1983 and since then, he has gained varied and extensive experience across the many fields. In 1987, Nick became a partner of Mahony Samuel Becker and its subsequent variations and set up on his own law practice and work on his own account under Ponsonby Law Limited in 2008.
Nick has a keen and varied interest in many hobbies and sports including rugby, golf, tennis, and sailing.Nick played rugby for many years in multiple Championship Winning Teams. Auckland Grammar School 1st XV unbeaten and won the Auckland Secondary Schools Championship.
Played for Grammar Old Boys Premiers and Takapuna Rugby Clubs both for many years including captaining the Takapuna Premier side in their first North harbour Championship winning year. Representative Teams Auckland East Roller Mills, Auckland Secondary Schools and Auckland u21, Auckland Premier Triallists and he has received multiple Rugby Club Awards for playing and services.
Nick also Coached and Captained several Takapuna Rugby Teams over the years with great success and served on the Takapuna Rugby Club Committee for 7 years and the North Harbour Rugby Union Council of Clubs for 3 years.
